Our New optomap®

Protect Your Vision

Optomap Machine

Annual eye exams are vital to maintaining your vision and overall health.
Advanced Eyecare of Hillsborough offers the optomap® as an important part of our exams.
The optomap produces a unique, high-resolution 200° image that allows Dr. Barbara Tarbell and Dr. Anna Moy
to assess the health of your retina — much wider than the traditional 45° view.

Many eye problems can develop without noticeable symptoms. Conditions such as
macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal tears or detachments, and even
systemic health issues like diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected
with a thorough exam of the retina.

Benefits of optomap

  • A scan to show a healthy eye or detect disease.
  • A wide view of the retina — far more comprehensive than traditional methods.
  • The opportunity to review and discuss your optomap image with your doctor immediately.
  • A permanent record for your file, allowing doctors to compare images over time to monitor changes.

The optomap is fast, easy, and comfortable for all patients.
The process involves looking into the device one eye at a time.
Images appear immediately on a computer screen so you and your doctor can review them together.
